SJ Sharks Prospects Scrimmage 2014

On July 9th, I had the pleasure of taking my sisters out to their first semi-hockey game. I say semi since it wasn't a game between two hockey teams. It was the second annual Sharks Prospects Scrimmage. Basically all the prospects were divided into two teams & play each other. Great for my hockey withdrawals ;)

Sisters, me & Vinh reppin' the Sharks

The tickets to this event was only $5 per person & parking was free! Seating was first come first serve so we were like 4-5 rows away from the glass! When we arrived inside, we saw a big sign that you can write notes to the prospects to read later. I wrote the below:

Message to the newbies

Can you spot my message? :P

The prospects were split into two teams: team white & team teal. It was hilarious since they were all Sharks players that the audience didn't know who to root for, haha! They would play two 25-minute periods & then end with a shootout with 5 players from each team. The white team ended up winning 2-1 after the two periods. White team also dominated the shootout with 3-1, ouch. Sorry team teal :(

Look how close we are!

Team white is victorious!

Overall, a very fun experience! For the price of this event, I would totally attend every year for as long as they host it. I think it's great to see potential new Sharks players that'll eventually end up in the final roster. Keep on going in development camp guys! Would you attend something like this if your area offered it? :)
