Yelp Intern Event: San Jose Earthquakes

Vinh & I had the pleasure of attending our first San Jose Earthquakes game thanks to Yelp intern event. Gotta keep the World Cup craze going with a little local soccer ;)

Reppin' our USMNT shirts

We arrived early to find the Yelp tailgate party in parking lot #4. The party was so small that it was hard to find, but thank goodness for some parking staff. After getting our tickets from Jon S, we headed into the stadium to find our seats.

Yelp cone, hah

Game tickets

We ended up in section 101 which was on the far end for one goal post. It was super bright as the sun was setting when we were watching the teams warm up.

Our view

Another view

Although our Earthquakes is dead last in their western conference *shakes head* Our most famous player is Chris Wondolowski. You may have seen him play at the World Cup. You know, the guy that missed the open goal against Germany with Dempsey right next to him? *shakes head again*

Program cover

Ready for our first soccer game

We watched the first half of the game in our seats. We watched the second half standing at the top of the bleachers. It was way more exciting as we were closer to mid-field & can see more of the action at both ends. The Earthquakes ended up losing to DC United 1-2. Unfortunately, Wondolowski did not live up to the hype of his return from the World Cup...

Go Quakes!

Kick it!

Thanks to Jon S for the great opportunity for a great opportunity to watch soccer at home. It certainly fed into our soccer craze!
