Meet Darla & Libby

On August 5th, Vinh & I became parents to our two new furbabies: Darla & Libby. Darla is our chiweenie (chihuahua & dachsund) & Libby is our little white kitten. These two have been our princesses since they've been adopted from the Humane Society :P

Libby & Darla sleeping on the couch together

Darla comes to us with an unknown history as she was found. She is afraid of almost anything, especially humans. We suspect that she was abused prior. She has a bad case of separation anxiety, but we are slowly working on that. She is really a sweet girl who just wants a little lovin' & cuddling. Darla is definitely getting better during walks with other people around. Dogs, not so much yet... She is already trained to use the pee pad & hasn't had any poopy accidents in the house, yay!

Darla in her new bed

Libby is our little miss priss. She is about 4 months old & loves exploring her new environment for sure. She will go anywhere & everywhere. She is not afraid to get in your space & attack your toes. She is one curious kitty & a smart one, too! She is currently going through training to use the potty instead of the litterbox. So far, so good!

Libby underneath daddy's desk

Darla was living with her foster mom with Libby & her siblings were born. The kittens certainly got into Darla's space & forced her to be more comfortable with others. Thus, both were adopted as a pair so that Darla wouldn't have as much fear moving to a new home. Both play with each other & Darla definitely looks out for her little sister :)

Darla all curled up on the couch

These two took up all the couch space!

We took both for a walk one time, Libby wasn't too impressed

You can probably expect these two cutie pies to show up more often on the blog now! Our family has now grown to a family of four :)

  1. Congratulations on your new fur babies!!! I am surprised you can get the kitty to be on a leash at all. Most cats I have seen won't take to it a all.
    They are both very cute!!

  25. Aw, that's so sweet!!! We rescued our CoCo (black kitty cat) and she rules the house for sure LOL We adopted our Taffy (white doggy) from the SPCA, and she was pretty scared when we first got her, but she's warmed up very well! They're not nearly as friendly as your two are with each other, but they're tolerating one another okay LOL Congrats on your new babies!
