Walk to End Alzheimer's 2014

On October 11th, I had to pleasure of walking with my coworkers in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's in San Jose. My fellow OT Graham facilitated our group from work & I felt bad if I was the only rehab person to not show up for the walk :P

On Lok represent!

Vinh & I decided to meet up with the group at the event rather than at my workplace (which was walking distance). We picked up our flowers & looked around at all the sponsors before running into my coworkers. We all had to take obligatory team photos prior to the walk.

The walk itself was a 5K with the option of doing 1-mile if you didn't want to walk too far. It was fun chatting with my coworkers who I wouldn't otherwise talk to often at work since we're so busy. It was a nice day out, not too hot or cold, making it a perfect day for a walk for a great cause!

Have you ever participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's? Would you participate in the future? :)

  14. This is a great cause to get behind. I was just talking to a friend who has a family member suffering from this. It is such a hard thing for families. Having people rally for your cause is comforting.

  23. I have not. I definitely would consider it though. The walks would be even more fun than the runs I think because you could have everyone in the family go.
